The Building Thinking Classrooms Summer Teacher Institute!

We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting second Building Thinking Classrooms Teacher Institute! We recognize that within the BTC community, there are many ways for K-12 educators to learn about BTC and engage in their own professional growth. From the books and book studies, to in-district professional development, to the BTC Annual Conference and other regional conferences and conference sessions, to the social media groups, webinars, podcasts, and through Rocket PD and Grassroots Workshops. And yet, we also know there are people missing out on an opportunity for PD–particularly those wanting PD led by Peter Liljedahl himself. Our goal is to increase access to professional development for teachers who are otherwise finding it difficult to get the professional development they’d like to have in BTC.

In an effort to meet that need, we are hosting a 3-day Institute for Teachers. This is not a conference with keynotes and concurrent sessions, but rather a deep and focused opportunity to experience three 6.5-hour workshop days in which you will:

  • Experience several full lessons from the point of view of a learner

  • Spend time reflecting on the practices through the lens of a teacher

  • Explore in depth the details and nuances of all 14 practices
